Featured Experience

Reaching the summit of Doi Inthanon, at 2,565 metres, is one of those moments that stay with you long after a trip ends. The combination of fresh mountain air, cloud forest and endless views creates a unique feeling that is difficult to describe and impossible to forget.

“It’s not just the view, it’s the moment — and all of Thailand beneath your feet.”

Itinerary

07:30–08:30 | Morning Pickup

  • Pickup will be from your hotel. The exact time will depend on the location of your accommodation and the number of participants. As this is a group tour, we kindly ask you to be punctual and understanding, as slight delays may occur due to traffic or other circumstances along the route.

Doi Inthanon National Park

  • After a scenic drive of approximately one and a half hours, you will arrive at the entrance to Doi Inthanon National Park, known as “The Roof of Thailand”.

Mae Klang Waterfall

  • Our first stop will immerse you in nature. We will enjoy a gentle walk along the Mae Klang nature trail. This pleasant 30–40-minute walk takes you through lush vegetation, accompanied by the soothing sound of flowing water, until you reach the impressive waterfall.

Wachirathan Waterfall

  • This is one of the park’s most powerful and spectacular waterfalls. Unlike Mae Klang, Wachirathan is an impressive cascade more than 70 metres high, plunging down with tremendous force and creating a refreshing cloud of mist that often produces a rainbow on sunny days. You can admire it from several viewpoints, allowing you to experience its power and beauty up close.

King and Queen Pagodas

  • Get ready for one of the most memorable moments of the day. Near the mountain summit, we will visit the majestic Twin Pagodas.

  • Built to commemorate the 60th birthdays of King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, these two stupas, one in an earthy brown tone and the other in lavender purple, stand elegantly on the hillside. They are surrounded by beautifully maintained flower gardens that burst with colour throughout the year.

  • The panoramic mountain views from here are breathtaking, offering an exceptional sense of peace and tranquillity.

The Roof of Thailand

  • Next, we will reach the highlight of the day, both literally and figuratively: Thailand’s highest point, at 2,565 metres above sea level. The air here is fresh, and temperatures are noticeably cooler than in the city.
  • A short walk along the Ang Ka Nature Trail will take you through a magical cloud forest covered in moss and ancient ferns, a unique ecosystem in Thailand.
  • The trail leads to a stupa marking the exact summit and containing the remains of King Inthawichayanon, the last king of Chiang Mai, after whom the mountain was named.

Hmong Local Market

  • As we descend from the summit, we will make a short but colourful stop at a local Hmong tribal market. Here, you can see the fresh produce grown on the mountain’s fertile slopes, including fruit, vegetables, flowers and nuts. It is an excellent opportunity to support the local community and perhaps buy a snack or a handmade souvenir.

Traditional Thai Lunch

  • After a morning full of exploration, it is time to recharge. We will enjoy a delicious Thai lunch at a local restaurant. The menu will be carefully selected to offer an authentic taste of northern Thai cuisine, with flavourful dishes that are not excessively spicy and are suited to visitors’ tastes.

Tribal Village, Rice Terraces and Coffee

  • Our final stop offers a deeper cultural experience. We will visit a mountain village where you can learn about the local community’s way of life and ancestral traditions.

  • If you visit between July and November, you will be rewarded with iconic views of the terraced rice fields at Baan Mae Klang Luang, which turn the hillsides an intense emerald green.

  • The community is also known for its high-quality coffee. You will have the opportunity to try a freshly roasted and ground cup of local coffee, an authentic and delicious way to round off your visit.

16:00–16:30 | Return to Chiang Mai

  • We will conclude our tour and begin the journey back to your hotel in Chiang Mai, taking with you unforgettable memories of your adventure in Doi Inthanon National Park.

Approximately 17:30–18:00 | Arrival at Your Hotel

  • Arrival at your hotel in Chiang Mai. The exact time will depend on the hotel’s location.
